Today in class we were doing Design Challenge #2. In this Challenge we were supposed to make some type of transportation in order to get the medicine (lego's) to the city (blue cross). We had various materials to use. We had sheets of paper, styrofoam, wooden sticks, hot glue guns, translucent sketching paper, paper clips, rubber bands, straws, and string for use in this project. We originally came up with an idea of a catapult type of approach; this didn't work well because the rubber bands were to feeble and thin in order to ping the medicine (lego's) to the the city (blue cross). Secondly, we came up with an idea of a zip-line type of approach. This didn't work because the lego's kept on getting stuck on the string and we did not have a steep enough slope to do so. With our last and final thought; a paper airplane. We choose a paper airpalne because we went for the glide approach, because there was obstacles in our way trying to stop us; so we made it to fly over them and hopefully land where the city lies. We tried all of our products but only one seemed to works the best due to the environment around us and the supplies we can use; the paper airplane. We finished 4th place overall and I was pretty happy due to our hard work and dedication we put into making this product .
